Roger covers Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) issuers in various capacities including pre-launch structuring, ongoing distribution, and trade execution. In addition, Roger covers a growing client base of institutional investors using ETFs. Roger is on the Equity Index Analytics team which publishes regularly and enhances NBF coverage of Canadian ETF and index fund managers. Roger joined NBF in 2010 working on various Equity Derivative products until focusing primarily on helping build National Bank’s ETF offering. He holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Ian de Verteuil has a long career in the investment business. He started as a fundamental analyst with a Canadian broker dealer in 1987 and for much of the next 30+ years was a top-ranked analyst as measured by various external rating services, including Brendan Wood (BW), Greenwich and Starmine. Over that period, he was a top-ranked analyst in multiple sectors, including banking, insurance, consumer products and special situations. In the most recent BW survey, he was ranked as the best Equity Strategist in Canada. His career has included a period at the CPP Investment Board as Head of Fundamental Research where he was responsible for developing its fundamental research capability and integration with quantitative approaches. Further, he spent two years as Global Head of Research at a Canadian competitor, managing 70+ fundamental and quantitative analysts and its Economics department, with professionals located in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. Mr. de Verteuil joined CIBC Capital Markets in 2014. In addition to his involvement with various stock selection, pension and asset management committees, Mr. de Verteuil is focused on thematic research. He is responsible for research into a variety of topics, including Macro Fundamental, Quantitative, ESG and ETFs. Mr. de Verteuil has aB.Sc. in Chemistry from McGill University and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. He is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, and moved to Canada in 1987.
Daniela is an associate on Scotiabank’s ETF Services team, where she is responsible for ETF publications, research, and client relationships. Daniela is an alum of Scotiabank’s Capital Markets Rotational Program, having the opportunity to rotate through a variety of teams, including Sustainable Finance and ETF Services. Prior to joining Scotiabank, Daniela worked as an investment advisor in Mexico for a number of years, managing clients portfolios by investing across various asset classes and investment instruments. Daniela holds a BA in Finance from ITESM (Mexico) and an MBA from Schulich School of Business.
Megan France is Director, ETF Business Development at CIBC Capital Markets. Prior to joining CIBC, Megan began her career in the US at a large investment manager then subsequently, moved to Canada and joined a Canadian based investment manager. Throughout her time in the industry, she has enjoyed working closely with clients and taking part in the continued growth of ETFs.
Chris joined BMO Asset Management in 2010, and is a portfolio manager of equity, derivatives-based and multi-asset portfolios. Chris also trades equity options and foreign exchange for the firm. His several years of industry experience includes a role as a quantitative equity research associate, and work in investment funds product and client support. He holds a Masters of Finance from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management (Dean’s List), where he studied investments, including derivatives and derivative pricing. Chris also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo, with studies in History and Mathematics, and is a CFA charter holder.
Jing joined the Global Equity Derivatives desk at BMO Capital Markets in 2010 and has since held roles in trading, market making, institutional sales, and product issuance for all Canadian ETFs. Currently, her primary role is to engage with all ETF issuers in bringing new product to market, and manage relationships as they span across various lines of business within capital markets.
Alfred is a portfolio manager at BMO Asset Management Inc. where he manages fixed income and preferred share related mandates for both institutional and retail clients. As part of the global fixed income management team, he is involved in the management and trading of a wide variety of portfolios including Canadian bonds, U.S. investment grade, high yield, European and Asian bonds, emerging market debt and others. Previously, he worked for a large Canadian based brokerage developing ETF related strategies and sat on the firm’s investment committee. Alfred is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, majoring in economics and holds the CFA, Chartered Market Technician and Derivatives Market Specialist and DMS designations.
Patrick is Managing Director of NBF’s Electronic Trading & Services, offering DEA and algorithmic trading as well as ETF, equity derivatives, and Portfolio Trading to institutional clients. He has over 20 years of trading experience. Prior to NBF, he was with ITG Canada as a Director in their electronic brokerage group and headed up their Commission Management Services. He spent his formative years in Montreal at boutique global investment dealer Pavilion Global Markets where, as the Head of North American Equity Trading, he was instrumental in developing their portfolio trading capabilities in both Canada and the U.S. He has been actively involved in shaping the Canadian regulatory environment through regular participation in industry comment letters and contributions to advisory committees like MSAC, MRAC, and the CSTA’s Trading Issues Committee. He is a sitting member of NBF’s Liquidity Review Committee, which is mandated to ensure that NBF duly meets its Best Execution obligations. Patrick is a CFA and went to most of his classes at the University of Western Ontario.
Alex Perel joined Scotiabank in 2017 as Director and Head of ETF Services. In this role, Alex leads Scotiabank’s ETF market-making and client facilitation activities in Canada. Prior to joining Scotiabank Alex led the ETF market making desk at another Canadian financial institution where he developed an expertise in Canadian equity market microstructure and regulatory affairs. He brings a comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian ETF landscape from the perspective of investors, fund sponsors and intermediaries. Alex graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelors of Mathematics degree, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He is a past Chair of the Canadian Security Trader Association.
Mr. Rashid covers institutional clients on the ETF Sales and Strategy desk at TD Securities. Mr. Rashid advises pensions, asset allocation teams and family offices on ETF strategies, publishes a broad array of ETF publications, and works with TD's ETF market making team in facilitating ETF orders. He joined TD Securities in 2021, and previously held various ETF roles at Invesco, a global investment manager. Hussein has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Andres Rincon is responsible for ETF and options strategy at TD Securities. Mr. Rincon advises both institutional and wealth investors on ETF and option strategies. Andres joined TD Securities in 2008, first managing credit risk for the dealer, and later as a member of the Equity Derivatives division. After four years leading equity derivatives sales and research in London, England, Andres moved back to Toronto. In 2016 Andres took on the task of expanding TD Securities’ ETF strategy platform. He is also a Chartered Market Technician (CMT).
Zachary’s current role is institutional ETF sales. Before joining BMO, Zachary worked for another Canadian bank where he managed both ETF issuer relationships and institutional coverage. Prior to that, he was on the Financing and Delta-1 Solutions desk at Global Bank. Zachary holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and is a CFA Charterholder.
Jin Yan joined the Portfolio Strategy team as an ETF analyst at CIBC Capital Markets in 2021. Prior to that, she worked at another Canadian bank for seven years, in ETF Sales and Trading and also in Equity Research covering the energy industry. In her role, she advises institutional and retail investors on incorporating ETFs in their portfolios. Her research focus areas include innovations and developments in the ETF industry, implementing investment strategies using ETFs, and structural benefits associated with the ETF wrapper.
Ms. Yan holds a BBA in Finance from Simon FraserUniversity and is a CFA Charterholder.
